Compliance Privacy Officer - Revenue Cycle

Your day As a Revenue Cycle Compliance & Privacy Officer you need to know how to: Establish and Chair hospital revenue cycle Billing Compliance Committee.  Identify potential revenue cycle compliance vulnerabilities through various methods, including risk assessment, auditing and ongoing monitoring; report compliance issues to the SCL Health System Compliance & Integrity Office; assist with developing and/or implementing corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues. Based on risk assessment, develop and recommend an annual hospital revenue cycle work plan that will be included as part of the overall Compliance Work Plan. Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures or Standards of Conduct by reporting issues, investigating and coordinating appropriate response including ensuring implementation of any resulting corrective action with appropriate departments and parties. Oversee external revenue cycle government compliance audits and investigations, reporting as directed and coordinating with legal counsel as appropriate. Encourage utilization of "Compliance Hotline" to facilitate prompt reporting of possible compliance issues. Coordinate investigations and follow up of matters that are reported through the "Compliance Hotline" or other confidential internal reporting mechanisms. Track and trend compliance issues that are identified through the "Compliance Hotline" or other means (billing, charging, etc.), in order to anticipate, mitigate and prevent potential vulnerabilities going forward. Communicate and educate on compliance related policies and procedures. Promote increased understanding of compliance within each department of the revenue cycle by providing education that reinforces the importance of adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. Ensure consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with regulations or policies for individuals in the revenue cycle workforce in conjunction with Integrity and Compliance department personnel, Human Resources, Risk Management, Administration and legal counsel, as applicable. Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations; monitor healthcare regulatory environment for emerging trends of compliance issues and requirements. Provide written reports on revenue cycle and Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle compliance activities to SCL Health System VP/Chief Compliance and Integrity Officer, Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle Billing Compliance Committee and Revenue Cycle management.  Oversee conflicts of interest disclosures for associates within the Revenue Cycle.  Serve as the Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle Privacy Officer and oversee the Hospital Billing Revenue Cycle HIPAA Privacy Program.  Your experience We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: Graduate degree in one of the following areas preferred: law, regulatory affairs, health care administration, medicine, nursing, business and/or ethics from an accredited college or university. Candidates without this credential may be considered with a combination of a Bachelor's degree (as described above). Preferred active professional certifications (e.g. Healthcare Compliance Fellowship(s) or CPA). Seven (7) years of relevant work experience, at least three (3) years of which is in a compliance role, performing tasks similar to those outlined in this specification. Experience working with HIPAA Privacy.  Advanced skills in the areas of project management, planning, investigations and implementing initiatives. Track record of building relationships and strategic partnerships with a variety of senior executives and managers in a manner that establishes trust and credibility. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
